What does WESTxEAST do?
WESTxEAST creates south asian inspired outfits that can be customized by our clients. We started the company to deliver each of our clients a beautiful outfit(s) that is unique to them, a completely digital experience, and more transparent pricing than boutiques currently offer or an expensive trip to South Asia.
We utilize our operational expertise to make your customized outfit(s) and leverage technology to deliver an unparalleled experience. Our Founder, Tania Kottoor worked for emerging and established designers. We have a production unit in Chennai, India and work with artisans who have worked with well-known Indian designers to deliver top quality craftsmanship at affordable prices.
Where are you located?
We are based in Manhattan, New York but serve customers across the United States and Canada.
Do you have a store I can visit?
We do not have a store. We’re a completely virtual service.
DRESS MAKING PROCESS
How does the process work?
- Build your own garment. Our design tool let's you customize your style in 3D. You can choose silhouette, then depending on the garmnet, you can select color, fabric, neckline, backline, trims and more.
Tip: Share the outfit with your bridal party or friends to see what they think! - Place your order. You can select standard sizing (checkout our size guide) or you can have your garment made to measure. We’ll send a link to your phone and collect your virtual measurements in 60 seconds.
- Production: Your order will begin production in India, where our team of specialized Dyers, Pattern-Makers, Embroiderers, Weavers, and Tailors will handcraft your garments - typically 6-8 weeks* from the time we get your measurements.
- Delivery:You will be notified when the outfit is enroute to your home address. Once the package is delivered to your doorsteps.
Is the whole process conducted online, or does any part require us to meet in person?
We have created a system that allows you to customize your dream outfit(s) completely digitally.

FIT AND MEASUREMENTS
Since I can’t try it on, how does WESTxEAST make sure my dress will fit properly?
WESTxEAST offers two options; you can select from standard sizing (checkout our size guide) or you can have your garment made to measure. We use an AI powered tool to enable you to take your measurements without needing to visit a tailor.
What about alterations?
We do not provide any alterations.
Who pays for alterations?
You are financially responsible for standard alterations after you receive the outfit(s).
PRICING & RETURNS
What is the typical price of a WESTxEAST outfit?
Our prices range from $220 - $1,000+ per garment, depending on the intricacies and materials used.
What is your refund policy?

LEAD TIMES
How long will it take to make my outfit(s)?
It can take 6-8 weeks to produce your outfits, from the time of purchase. If you are having your garmnet made to measure, it will be 6-8 weeks from the time of receiving your measurements.
Timeframe may vary, depending on size and specification of order.
DELIVERY
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we only ship within the United States and Canada.
Who pays for shipping?
We offer free shipping on orders over $500. Otherwise, iti is a flat fee of $25.
How do I track my dress while it’s being shipped?
We will send you the tracking number once your outfit(s) is packed and enroute.
